American journalist: Ovechkin only knows how to score, setting a record 18:52 on ice

American journalist TSN Mike Johnson criticized National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin.

“Ovechkin is not in my rating. Definitely! Yes, he scored goals last season but that’s the only thing he did well. Ovechkin doesn’t show up late to games because he is the best defender. He’s going out to score goals to break the record,” Johnson said.

Ovechkin, who played in 74 regular season games in the NHL last season, scored 42 goals and 33 assists. However, this did not help the Capitals reach the tournament’s play-offs.

The Russian player currently has 822 goals scored in his NHL career. The difference with Wayne Gretzky is 72 goals. The Canadian has 894 goals and remains first among snipers in NHL history.

In the first game of the regular season, Washington will play against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The meeting will take place on October 14. The first match will take place at 2:30 Moscow time.

Formerly journalist Jamie McLellan statedWhat to expect from Ovechkin as the leader in the NHL sniper race?
