Inter Miami’s Argentinian striker Lionel Messi was nominated for the MLS Player of the Season award. official website leagues.

A total of 30 players are competing for the prize. Messi’s teammate Sergio Busquets was also nominated for the MVP award. Each club independently nominates its players for the league’s Most Valuable Player award. Only two players from the same club can apply for the award.

After playing for two years in the French team Paris Saint-Germain, Messi was transferred to Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. He made his debut for the club by scoring from a free kick in the first leg. His hitting streak stopped at nine games.

After 12 matches for Inter Miami, Messi scored 11 goals and made 5 assists. On August 20, the Argentinian won his first trophy in America. Inter Miami won the League Cup by beating Nashville in a penalty shootout in the last match of the tournament (10:9).

The Argentinian player missed Inter Miami’s last few matches due to injury.
