On September 26, the executive board of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) allowed Russian youth teams under the age of 17 to participate in international tournaments. However, they will take to the field without a flag or anthem. Matches will be played abroad.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that domestic and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions. The IIHF suspended FHR’s participation in the 2022 World Championship, a decision that remains in effect to this day.
