Spartak’s former coach rejected the offer to return to the team

Former Spartak coach Raul Riancho said that he can no longer return to the Moscow club because he is busy with other activities. His words are quoted “Match TV”.

“If Abaskal is fired, will you take over Spartak? I am not available at the moment due to work. I was appointed general director of the municipal sports institute of the city of Santander,” said Riancho.

Riancho started working at Spartak Moscow in 2018, where he became Massimo Carrera’s assistant. Following Carrera’s dismissal on 22 October 2018, Riancho was appointed as interim head coach. He spent six matches in charge of the team in total. He left Spartak in November of the same year after Oleg Kononov was appointed to this position.

On October 4, Spartak lost to Dynamo in the Russian Cup with a score of 0:3. Fomin, Bitello and Zazvonkin scored. Despite this defeat, the red-whites have already guaranteed their place in the play-offs.

On October 1, Spartak lost to Krylya Sovietov Samara in the Russian Championship with a score of 0:4.
