Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, will host the World Sambo Cup to be held on October 6-8. Athletes will compete in 37 weight categories in sports and sambo fighting branches.
Teams from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Bolivia, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia and the Netherlands are expected to participate in the competition. Romania, Serbia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the competition.
In accordance with the decision of the International Sambo Federation (FIAS) board of directors, athletes from Russia, Belarus and France will compete in neutral status.
The competition will be held in the following weight categories:
Youth: 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg;
Youth: 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg;
Combat Sambo (juniors): 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg;
Girls: 47 kg, 50 kg, 54 kg, 59 kg, 65 kg, 72 kg, 80 kg, +80 kg;
Men: 53 kg, 58 kg, 64 kg, 71 kg, 79 kg, 88 kg, 98 kg, +98 kg.
