Former Russia international and Lokomotiv forward Dmitry Bulykin has criticized Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal for experiments with the team. His words are quoted “Championship”.
“Abascal’s experiments are incomprehensible. The players themselves don’t know who the main player is. No interaction. This has a very strong effect, but Abascal has such tactics. I don’t understand how he got to Spartak, but that’s not that important. More importantly, the players themselves are not very happy with the current situation. After such a defeat, Abaskal will contact the leadership. What they will accept is a question up to Spartak,” Bulykin said.
Abaskal took over as head of Spartak before the start of the 2022/23 season. Before Russia, the expert worked in Volos, Greece, and Basel, Switzerland. He extended his contract with the team with a salary increase as the season progressed. Last season, under his leadership, the red and white team came third in the Russian Championship.
On October 1, Spartak lost to Krylya Sovetov Samara with a score of 0:4. The red-whites lost 0:2 in the 25th minute, thanks to Yuri Gorshkov’s double. Garre and Shitov scored another goal each in the second half. Captain Georgy Dzhikia missed this match.
