Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova met with US representative Jessica Pegula at the final of the tournament held in Tokyo (Japan). The match ended with the local athlete winning with scores of 7:5 and 6:1.
The duration of the meeting lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes. Kudermetova played a consecutive serve, committed a double fault and converted four of the five break points she won.
On the way to the final, the Russian woman defeated compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Pole Iga Swiatek, American Kayla Day and British representative Harriet Dart.
In the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings, Kudermetova ranks 19th with 2170 points. Belarus representative Arina Sabalenko continues to lead with 9266 points. He was followed by Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek (8195 points). American Cori Gauff (6165 points) completed the top three. Daria Kasatkina is the best Russian woman in this ranking. She ranks 13th with 2790 points. Pegula is in 4th place.
