Franco Camozzi, the former advisor of Spartak Moscow’s former owner Leonid Fedun, reacted to the words of the club’s forward Alexander Sobolev, who said that the red-whites could win the Europa League. Camozzi shared his opinion Sports24.

“Sobolev is right; Spartak may compete for the LE award. Then Paolo Vanoli became the coach who won the Russian Cup at the end of the season. The Italian could claim that with him “Spartak” would achieve victory in the Europa League.

In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

Spartak took first place in the Europa League group in 2021, ahead of Italian Napoli, English Leicester and Polish Legia. Thanks to the victory in the group stage, the Russian club had to play in the play-offs with RB Leipzig.

Former foreign coach named Sobolev’s words are nonsense.
