The England international started the match against the Canaries side on the bench, with Carlo Ancelotti acting as the most decisive player Real Madrid have had in these first seven games of the season, including the Champions League debut against Union Berlin. And he did not leave that place: he looked at the whole assembly as he sat there.
Bellingham is one of the three top scorers in LaLiga, with five goals in six appearances (the same as Álvaro Morata and Robert Lewandowski). He only failed to score in the last two games, against Real Sociedad at the Bernabéu and against Atlético de Madrid at the Metropolitano. He also scored the winning goal over Union Berlin.
However, Ancelotti decided to leave him on the bench against Las Palmas, giving Brahim Díaz the starting job. He also failed to score in the second half. It had to do with the gain in minutes that the former Borussia Dortmund player had and it is expected that he will start again next Saturday, when Real Madrid faces leader Girona in Montilivi.
In fact, Ancelotti himself confirmed it after the 2-0 win over Las Palmas. “Bellingham told me he was tired and that we wanted to avoid problems,” the Italian coach admitted.
