Athletic Club de Bilbao and Getafe drew this afternoon at the Nuevo San Mamés, for the seventh day of LaLiga 2023/24. Valverde’s side tried to continue on the path of victory and faced a blue team that had just lost to Real Sociedad in Anoeta. However, the Lions had to settle for a draw. They took the lead through Yuri, but Ohian Sancet was sent off for Athletic just before half-time and Gastón Álvarez equalized for Getafe after the restart. Iñaki Williams gave the Bilbao team the lead, but Latasa made it 2-2 seven minutes before the end.

The second half started with an early reaction from Getafe to the goal. Gastón Álvarez equalized the score after a corner kick with the help of Iñaki Williams. Athletic, far from collapsing, wanted to respond to a Getafe that was down to one on the field of play, but still continued to show some cracks.
