Former Lokomotiv head coach Marko Nikolic admitted that after joining the Moscow team, the club’s agreements regarding the development vector were violated. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“The moment we shook hands, a new project emerged. The contract with Corluka was not renewed, Krychowiak left. They brought in other players too. You need a symbiosis of youth and experience – this is the only way to achieve results. But if the aim is to sell football players, this is not for me. There are a million experts ready for this. But not me. I told this to the management. I wanted to be a successful coach. And I’m not a salesman,” Nikolic said.
The Serbian expert worked at Lokomotiv from May 2020 to October 2021. Under his leadership, railway workers won the Russian Cup in the 2020/21 season.
After Nikolic’s departure, the club changed six managers. Since November 2022, the team is headed by Mikhail Galaktionov.
After nine rounds in the Russian Premier League (RPL), Lokomotiv is in sixth place in the standings with 15 points.
Former president of Lokomotiv statedDziuba has two personalities.
