Russian MMA fighter Sergei Kharitonov explained in one of his interviews why Petr Yan suggested he join the army for two or three years. His words are quoted sports.

“A valuable man is valuable even without an army. But there are nuances that everyone must go through. Military service gives momentum in the right direction in life. But I am 200% sure that everyone should do military service.

Why does Yan join the army? He would be a different person. He is a talented man, spiritual. I think I’ve had fights on the street and been through a lot. But there is no military service, and this is the cause of all the problems,” Kharitonov said.

On October 22, 2022, American Sean O’Malley defeated Russian Petr Yan by split decision in a bantamweight fight at the UFC-280 tournament in Abu Dhabi.

For Petr Yan, this was the second defeat in a row. He lost to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273 in April 2022. This meeting was vindictive in nature. In the previous fight, Yan was disqualified for hitting his opponent’s head with his knee while in a sitting position.

Previously Sergei Bondarchuk Jr. said It’s about filming a documentary series with MMA fighter Petr Yan.
