Famous former national football player Valery Masalitin, who played for Moscow Spartak and CSKA, as well as for clubs in the Netherlands, Spain and the Czech Republic, said the following about the competition in Moscow Spartak’s defense in his comment to socialbites.ca: Team captain Georgy Dzhikia is always strong. He noted that it did not show the same level as before.

“I have no doubt that Jikia is a good football player; another thing is that he is clearly losing his place at the moment. Here you have to wait, be patient, so that you can finally be included in the squad. For him, of course, it is a psychological blow – after all, he is the captain of Spartak and his leader. I can’t say that he is much inferior to Babich or Duarte. They are completely different players in style and Jikia can surpass them. But now it is clear that I have put on a little too much weight. He does not have the fire that he had before,” Masalitin thinks.

Georgy Dzhikia lost his place in the starting 11 in Spartak’s last two matches in the Russian Premier League and was left on the bench against both Sochi (1:0) and Dynamo (1:0). In both matches, the red-whites played to zero and the duo of Srdjan Babic and Alexis Duarte played in the centre.

Previously Russian coach statedThat Artem Dzyuba is busy with kindergarten.
