Former Liverpool football player recalled Messi calling him “donkey”

Former Liverpool and England footballer Jamie Carragher, now a TV commentator, spoke on CBS Sports about the message he received from former Paris Saint-Germain striker Lionel Messi.

The Argentine wrote a letter to Carragher after criticizing PSG’s poor performance in the Champions League.

“Did I get a message from Messi? Yes. I’ll just say the word he said to me. I don’t understand it. Burro. What does that mean? Donkey? Thank you,” said the Englishman.

Messi currently plays for Inter Miami. The striker moved to the United States in the summer of 2023 after playing for PSG for two years. He made his debut for the club by scoring from a free kick in the first leg. After 12 matches for Inter Miami, Messi scored 11 goals and made 5 assists.

Messi also played for Barcelona from 2003 to 2021. He won ten Spanish league titles, four Champions Leagues, seven Spanish Cups, eight Spanish Super Cups, three European Super Cups and three Club World Cups with the club.
