Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi said he wants to play for Argentinian Newell’s Old Boys Data base.
“I want to enjoy Argentinian football by playing for Newell’s Old Boys because I played on this team’s ground as a child. “It’s my dream to play for them,” Messi said.
Messi is a product of Newell’s Old Boys. He played for his school club from 1994 to 2000. He joined the Catalan academy of Barcelona in 2000.
After playing for two years in the French PSG, Messi was transferred to Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. He made his debut for the club by scoring from a free kick in the first leg. After 12 matches for Inter Miami, Messi scored 11 goals and made 5 assists.
On August 20, the Argentinian won his first trophy in America. Inter Miami won the League Cup by beating Nashville in a penalty shootout in the last match of the tournament (10:9).
In December 2022, Messi became world champion as part of the Argentine national team.
