The communication service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) denied the statements of former Rubin Kazan coach Leonid Slutsky that they did not give even a penny to his school “Championship.com”.
“For the last two seasons, the RFU paid Slutsky’s school fees for participation in the Southern Youth Football League in the amount of 4.7 million rubles. And 150 thousand rubles for cannons,” said the RFU.
Previously, Slutsky had criticized the RFU’s decision to fine him 100 thousand rubles for insulting a journalist.
On August 12, after Lokomotiv Moscow’s match against Krylya Sovetov, the journalist tried to ask a question to Zheleznodorozhniki forward Artem Dzyuba and received a harsh response with threats.
Slutsky on the YouTube channel “Comment.Show” sided with the striker. Describing the journalist as a “19-year-old moron”, Erdogan was sentenced to a one-year suspension from football and a fine of 100 thousand rubles.
