In the first round match of the Champions League group stage, Spanish Barcelona faced Belgian Antwerp. The match played at the Olympic Lewis Company stadium resulted in a 5:0 victory for the Catalans.

Goals for the home team: Joao Felix (11th and 66th minutes), Robert Lewandowski (19th), Yelle Bataille (own goal, 22nd), Gavi (54th). The meeting was discussed by a team of referees led by Radu Petrescu (Romania).

In addition to Barça and Antwerp, Group H also includes Portuguese Porto and Ukrainian Shakhtar. The head-to-head match ended with Porto winning decisively, 3:1. Wenderson Galeno (double) and Mehdi Taremi scored the Portuguese’s goals. Shakhtar’s only goal came from Kevin Kelce.

In the next round, Barcelona will face Porto away and Antwerp will face Shakhtar at home. Both matches will be played on October 4.

The current winner of the Champions League is English Manchester City, who beat Italian Inter (1-0) in last season’s final.
