Journalist Dmitry Guberniev responded to the ban on figure skater Pyotr Gumennik from performing in the 2023/24 season to the song Sonne by the German metal band Rammstein. “Match TV”.

“Banning English-speaking or German-speaking groups is complete nonsense. Many artists have contradictory attitudes towards our country. So why would this transfer to creativity?” – said Guberniev.

Guberniev also reminded that British singer Elton John lives with a man, but this is not a reason for his songs to be banned.

On September 16 and 17, the test skates of the Russian national team are held in Moscow. Although the 21-year-old skater prepared a new program for the season with the song Rammstein, she performed last year’s short program. Skater coach Veronika Daineko noted that information about an undesirable performance for this group appeared a few days before the test skates, so they did not have time to organize a new short program.

Gumennik is the winner of the Russian Grand Prix final (2023), silver medalist of the Russian Championship (2023).

Previously Daineko explained the skater’s refusal to perform under Rammstein management.
