Russian synchronized swimmer Varvara Subbotina published photos of herself in her swimsuit on her social networks.

The 22-year-old athlete won the World Championships four times and the European Championships three times. Subbotina missed the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo due to eardrum problems. Subbotina performs in solo, duet and group works.

In adult competitions, Subbotina made her debut at the World Championships in 2017 as part of the Russian national team, performing in group training. Subbotina, who won two gold medals at the World Championships, was awarded the title of “Honored Master of Sports of Russia”.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
