International Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif said that the organization did not force the events regarding the situation of CSKA goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov. His words are quoted TASS.

“When it comes to objections and other violations, we want to see a full picture of the situation. We are waiting for a statement from the disciplinary board, which determines the tempo, on this issue. The IIHF literally wants nothing to do with the blowout. The IIHF is fully committed to defending the fundamental rules of respecting the contract and complying with transfer regulations,” Tardif said.

On August 4, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) punished CSKA with a one-season international transfer ban for breach of contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Additionally, according to the decision, the team’s goalkeeper Fedotov will not be able to play in the Kontinental Hockey League until December 31, 2023. On 27 August, FHR allowed Fedotov to play from 1 January 2024. However, these bans did not prevent CSKA from leaving Fedotov on the ice in KHL regular season matches.

After five matches played, CSKA is in sixth place in the KHL Western Conference standings with five points.
