Russian figure skater Anna Shcherbakova published a video on her social networks in which she poses in a white jacket and a lilac dress.
On July 11, Sport24 reported that Shcherbakova had contracted mononucleosis. This is a viral disease in which fever develops, liver and spleen, lymph nodes increase, larynx and pharynx are affected. On August 1, RIA Novosti reported that the athlete returned to training.
Shcherbakova did not announce the end of her professional career, but did not participate in last season’s competitions. At the end of August 2022, the athlete underwent knee surgery and recovered for several months. On June 27, RIA Novosti announced the resumption of Shcherbakova’s career.
Shcherbakova is the 2022 Olympic champion in single skating, the 2021 world champion and a two-time European silver medalist. The figure skater won the Russian championship three times.
