Russian gymnasts Dina and Arina Averina tried themselves in a new sports discipline after performing at the Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics named after the honored coach Irina Viner-Usmanova. Sports24.

Athletes briefly participated in cheerleading and played the role of flyers.

Arina Averina announced that after completing the element, she would no longer try herself as a cheerleader.

“I’m very afraid of heights, but they offered to try it so I accepted. It was interesting to me. Apparently I didn’t look very confident, I won’t do it again. Dina was calmer, but I was fully concentrated and tried to hold on at least with my finger,” said the gymnast.

Dina Averina won the silver medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, breaking the 20-year winning streak of Russian gymnasts in the individual all-around games. Arina Averina remained without a medal and finished fourth in the final protocol.
