Tennis player Rublev advances to the next round at US Open

On September 1, tennis player Andrey Rublev met with France representative Gael Monfils in the second round match of the US Open (US Open). The victory remained in the hands of the Russian athlete with the scores of 6:4, 6:3, 3:6, 6:1. The duration of the meeting lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. Rublev made three aces, made two doubles and converted six of his 14 breakpoints.

In the next round, Rublev will play another Frenchman, Arthur Rinderknes.

In addition to Rublev, two more Russian tennis players continue to participate in the tournament in the USA. Daniil Medvedev will meet Australian Christopher O’Connell on 1 September. At the start of the US Open on August 29, the Russian defeated Hungarian Attila Balazs 6:1, 6:1 and 6:0 in three sets. Aslan Karatsev will also face Ben Shelton (USA) on September 1st. He had previously defeated Roberto Carballes-Baena with 6:2, 4:6, 6:3, 7:6.

Rublev is ranked eighth by the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP). Spaniard Carlos Alcaras remains in the lead. Novak Djokovic follows him. Daniil Medvedev is in the top three.
