Russian fighter Bellator denied title

Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Vadim Nemkov was denied the title of champion of the Bellator fighting organization in the light heavyweight division. The athlete told TASS.

“Yes, I moved to heavyweight. So far there is no light heavyweight champion, ”said Nemkov.

On June 17, Nemkov defeated Cuban Yoel Romero at a tournament in Chicago, USA. The fight, by a separate decision of the judges, ended with the victory of the Russians. The fight lasted for five rounds. Nemkov defended the Bellator Light Heavyweight Championship.

Another fight was voided in MMA due to Nemkov’s 17 wins and two losses. He defended the championship belt by defeating Corey Anderson of the USA at Bellator 288 in Chicago in November.

On June 21, Nemkov topped the Bellator rating regardless of weight categories.
