Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev admitted that he “exploded” if he was in a psychological regression.
“In tennis you can feel great one day, then bad, and then great again. Everything is constantly changing. I’m yelling at myself, not the coach. Never yell at a trainer. And the team is only complaining about how stupid I am.
It’s not easy when you’re always alone with yourself and everything is repeated over and over again every day. And if you are psychologically depressed, then you explode,” Rublev said at his post-match press conference.
On August 29, Rublev defeated France’s Arthur Caso 6:4, 7:6, 6:1 in three sets at the start of the US Open (US Open). In the next round, the Russian will face Gael Monfils. The match will be played on 31 August.
Three Russians also qualified for the second round of the tournament: Daniil Medvedev, Roman Safiullin and Aslan Karatsev.
Rublev is ranked eighth by the Professional Tennis Players Association (ATP). Medvedev remains the best of the Russians, in third place.
Formerly Daniil Medvedev announced cause of malfunctions in court.
