Two-time Olympic champion Boris Mikhailov said the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RHF) should suspend its membership in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). His words convey TASS.

“If it was my will, I would suspend membership of the federation as soon as we remove our national teams from the World Cup and from all international competitions, until our teams are restored,” said Mikhailov.

The IIHF has decided to prevent Russian hockey players from participating in international tournaments even with neutral status, and in 2023 it received from Russia the right to host the junior world championship at its home ground. In early July 2022, the IIHF disciplinary committee rejected the Russian Ice Hockey Federation’s request for admission to international competitions.
