Alexander Khmelevsky, the American striker of the hockey club “Salavat Yulaev”, said that his contract in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) has dropped in price due to the dollar. His words convey “Match TV”.

“Of course it’s unpleasant, but there’s nothing you can do about it. If you have signed a contract, you have signed it. The more money I got, the more I got. So you had such an agreement. We sign the contract in rubles, not dollars. And we agreed on that from the very beginning,” said Khmelevsky.

According to Match TV, Khmelevsky’s salary under a new one-year contract is 57 million rubles.

The hockey player moved to the Ufa club in 2022. Prior to that, he played for the National Hockey League (NHL) San Jose Sharks. Khmelevsky took part in 67 matches in the KHL last season, scoring 26 goals and making 22 assists.
