There has been an unexpected response tonight to political pressure to demand that Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), march over Jenni Hermoso’s non-consensual kiss. RFEF meets as reported in an official statement, “As a matter of urgency Extraordinary general assembly to be held on Friday, August 25 at 12:00 in the sports city of Las Rozas”.

As such, Rubiales’ future in office will be addressed after Pedro Sánchez, acting head of the Spanish Government, found the federation leader’s apologies “inadequate and inadequate” and supplemented with it. He describes Rubiales’ attack on Jenni Hermoso as “unacceptable”.

“We also want to keep you informed, based on the latest events that took place at the Women’s World Cup awards ceremony last Sunday in Sydney, where the Spanish National Team won. Federation internal proceedings regarding integrity matters are clear.as well as valid protocols”, reported the RFEF.
