Inter Miami returns to that scene in the United States on Wednesday night (early Thursday morning in Spain), with the new Leagues Cup champions visiting FC Cincinnati to play the US Open Cup semifinals.
The other semifinal will be played on the same day, but later, by the Houston Dynamo against Real Salt Lake. The winners will face each other in the Grand Final on September 27.

First contested in 1914, the US Open Cup is the event with the longest history in the North American country. Unlike MLS, which is privately funded, the tournament is organized by the national federation, US Soccer, and brings together all member teams, both professional and amateur.
The competition is the American equivalent of the national cups of the various countries (the Copa del Rey, the Copa Italia, the FA Cup or the Copa Argentina) and has been named after Lamar Hunt since 1999, in homage to the main promoter of the football in the country: The Arkansas businessman, who also played a key role in the development of American Football (even coining the term “Super Bowl”), was key to the installation of a professional league on North American soil at the end of the the 1960s and was also a founding member of MLS in the mid-1990s.
