“For Dynamo, the departure of Arsen Zakharyan is absolutely invisible. There are young men, they are leaping forward. Zakharyan really took the game on himself, he wanted to admire his game. You have to love football, not yourself in football. And he loves himself,” said Ponomarev.
The 20-year-old Samara native played for the Dynamo youth team from 2017 to 2020, after which he transferred to the main team and spent three seasons at the Russian Premier League (RPL) level. Previously, English Chelsea, Dutch Ajax and Feyenoord were interested in Zakharyan.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Sociedad will pay Dynamo a bonus of €12 million for the Russian football player, including a percentage of a possible future sale.
