International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) President Luc Tardif said that hockey club CSKA has objected to the decision regarding Russian goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov’s contract with the Moscow club. Transmits words DEA News.

Before the start of last season, Fedotov signed a contract with Philadelphia, which plays in the National Hockey League (NHL). However, he missed the whole season due to his service in the Russian army. On July 9, 2023, the Continental Hockey League (KHL) registered goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov’s contract with CSKA, causing controversy between clubs and Leagues.
The IIHF recognized Fedotov’s contract with Philadelphia as valid and decided to punish CSKA with a one-season international transfer ban. The regulation will enter into force on 11 August 2023 and will expire on 10 August 2024. Fedotov received a suspension that expires on December 31, 2023.
