CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev urged Russian players to take advantage of their home club instead of going to Europe. Transmits words “Match TV”.

“Everyone thinks about Europe – yes, that’s fine but why don’t you play here if you play for your favorite club, if you benefit it, if people love you? Why can’t you help your country? I have everything, with both hands.

“Europe is great, but if your story is being written here, you have to bring it to the end,” Akinfeev said.

On June 1, Akinfeev managed to save three post-match penalties in the Russian Cup final. Regular time ended with a score of 1-1. Their actions helped CSKA win this trophy for the first time in ten years. In 2023, the goalkeeper celebrates the 20th anniversary of his debut in adult football.
