Group 1 of the competition has the champion of the LPF tournament, River, and the final five of the year table.
2023 brought a change in the calendar. This time the two competitions that divide the year form a kind of castling: in the first part of the year the Professional League Tournament was played and River was crowned champion and in the second half of the season the fourth edition of the LPF Cup.
The Cup, which kicks off on Thursday, August 17, will maintain the same format as previous years: there will be a division into two zones (A and B) of 14 teams and the top four of each will qualify for the quarter-finals in search of of a place in the grand final, which will be played on Saturday 16 December.
Eight months after the group draw was held in early November, fate would have it that the vast majority of teams competing for permanence would be paired in Zone A: at the start of the tournament, the last five in the annual table (Arsenal, Colón, Huracán , Vélez and Independiente) are part of this group, which also includes the champion of the LPF Tournament, River,
