Manchester City defeated Burnley (3-0) in the first round match of the English Premier League (EPL).
Erling Haaland scored two goals for the Citizens in the 4th and 36th minutes, while Rodri (76) scored a goal. Burnley finished the game with ten men. Anass Zaruri was shown a red card in the 94th minute.
Fans of the hosts booed the players who knelt before the Premier League kick-off as a sign of the fight against racism and discrimination of any kind.
In the second round of the English championship, Burnley will play away against Luton Town and Josep Guardiola’s wards will face Newcastle at home. Both matches will be played on 19 August.
