Spartak’s former coach explains why RFU chose Pinyaev as best young player

Spartak Valery Gladilin, the capital’s former coach, said in an interview with socialbites.ca that the Russian Football Union (RFU) agrees to recognize Lokomotiv midfielder Sergei Pinyaev as the best young player of the 2022/23 season.

“Pinyaev has become a solid player in the main team of Lokomotiv, shows a bright and stable game, is growing.

For him, this award is an additional motivation to show that his place in the starting lineup is definitely deserved,” Gladilin said.

In the final season of the Russian Premier League (RPL), Pinyaev played nine games in which he scored two goals and received a yellow card.

In the 2023/24 season, Pinyaev has three RPL games, one goal and one assist.

Lokomotiv, led by Mikhail Galaktionov, currently has four points and is in eighth place in the standings.
