American UFC heavyweight fighter Colby Covington said in an interview with Submission Radio that his fight with Leon Edwards should be at a tournament where Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will meet.

“The UFC needs to put some great fights on this card as they know they can’t trust Jones. He’s an unreliable guy. You could get caught doping at any moment. Or get drunk, sniff and beat his wife again and then go to jail. And who better to insure than Covington?” said Covington.

In March, Jon Jones topped the rankings of top UFC fighters regardless of weight category (P4P). Jones defeated Frenchman Cyril Gan for the UFC heavyweight title. The fight took place in American Las Vegas as part of the UFC 285 tournament. At the very beginning of the opening round, Jones finished the fight with a stifling grip and won the UFC heavyweight championship belt.

The American, who previously performed in the light heavyweight category, announced that he then moved to another weight.

The victory over Gan put him 27th in his career in a loss for Jones. The French have 11 wins and two losses. The 35-year-old fighter won his first championship belt in 2011 and hasn’t suffered a single defeat since.
