Ovechkin will attend RPL match

National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin will play between Dynamo Moscow and Sochi in the 30th week match of the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by the press service of blue and white.

The meeting will be held on May 21. It starts at 17:00 Moscow time. Dynamo and Sochi are direct contenders for second place in the RPL standings. Both clubs have 53 points each.

It was also reported that the 36-year-old hockey player will deliver a symbolic blow to the gong in the 85th minute of the match (this is a tradition in the Dynamo arena).

Ovechkin has already finished playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs with his team. Washington lost to Florida in a seven-game series.
