The Antonio Puerta Trophy organizes the UEFA-CONMEBOL Club Challenge in this edition.
Sevilla and Independiente del Valle will play a very special edition of the Antonio Puerta Trophy at the Sánchez Pizjuán on July 19. UEFA wanted to join our flagship trophy through its partnership with CONMEBOL, sponsorship the pilot edition of the Club Challenge Antonio Puerta Trophy edition. A match between the 2022/23 Europa League champions and the 2022 Copa Sudamericana winner, Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle.

The first UEFA-CONMEBOL Club Challengein which both confederations have actively participated, will be held on July 19 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium andwill start at 10pm. The format of the tournament does not account for extra time if the 90 minutes ends in a draw, so there would be direct penalties.
This first edition will bear the name of our eternal Zurda de Diamantes, the XII Antonio Puerta Trophy. Puerta died of cardiac arrest in August 2007 at the age of 22.
