Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov announced the birth of her second son. The athlete made a corresponding post on Instagram (the owner, Meta, was considered an extremist in Russia and was banned).
“07/12/2023. Welcome to the world, my second baby Mikael,” Hachanov wrote on his page by posting a photo with the palm of a newborn baby and adding the “heart” and “amen” emojis.
Khachanov and his wife Veronika have a son named David, who was born in September 2019.
Khachanov first missed the 19-25 July tournament in Halle, Germany due to health issues, then withdrew from Wimbledon, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
Khachanov is the silver medalist in singles of the 2020 Olympic Games. He won five tennis tournaments of the Association of Tennis Professionals, and won four titles in singles. Together with the Russian national team, he won the Davis Cup in 2021, in the same year he was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
The tennis player is in 11th place in the ATP ranking with 3035 points.
