Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova reacted to the news that Elena Vyalbe was unanimously re-elected as the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).
Recall that today, on May 18, the reporting and election conference of FLGR took place, during which the incumbent president was unanimously re-elected for a new term. It is worth noting that Vyalbe is the only candidate.
“Vyalbe is the most understanding person in the business. It is very important to have a person in a position where it is his job and nothing can be done about it. And now we usually recruit people with a different profession, but here it is clear that Vyalbe is where he should be. And no one has questions, there is only joy, ”says Tarasova TASS.
Vyalbe, 54, is a three-time Olympic champion, 14-time world champion.
Vyalbe became president of FLGR in 2010 and was re-elected to the post in 2014 and 2018. During his presidency of the national team, he won 24 Olympic medals (five gold, ten silver and nine bronze) and 29 World Championship medals (5+14+9).
Former sports commentator and TV presenter Dmitry Guberniev named she is Elena Vyalbe’s only rival for the post of head of the Ski Racing Federation.
