The first edition of FIFA Women’s World Cup took place in China in 1991, when the North American ensemble won 2-1 against Norway. When appointed in Sweden in 1995 Norway took revenge and defeated Germany 2-0 in the finalwhile in the United States 1999 the local team again proclaimed champions and defeated China on penalties.

In 2003, the US returned to host the World Cup, but Germany took all the credit by beating Sweden 2-1 at overtime. China would host the World Cup again four years later, whenor the German team won the title again by beating Brazil 2-0. In Germany, the 2011 world championship was held precisely, with Japan’s final victory 3-1 on penalties over the US, after a 2-2 draw in the 90 minutes. At the last ecumenical meeting, held in Canada in 2015, the United States retaliated itself by beating the Japanese 5–2. And now, in 2019, the Americans won again by beating the Netherlands in the final (2-0)
