Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic expressed his respect for Russian Andrey Rublev. Words lead the way ATP press office.

“There were a lot of exciting moments in this match. Andrei is a person I respect a lot. He adds a lot of intensity to the pitch, as you can see by his grunt after his shots. Especially right-handed: it’s a bit scary – and from that angle the flying ball and the sound,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic and Rublev faced each other in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon on July 11. The win went to the Serbian representative with a score of 4:6, 6:1, 6:4, 6:3. He will face Italian Yannick Sinner in the semi-finals.

Also, another Russian player Roman Safiullin lost ¼ in the final. He met with the aforementioned Sinner.

Another Russian, Daniil Medvedev, will play the quarterfinals against American Christopher Eubanks on July 12.

Wimbledon started on July 3 and will run until July 16.
