For the first time in history, all pairs of Wimbledon quarterfinals have been determined, in which three Russian tennis players – Daniil Medvedev, Andrei Rublev and Roman Safiullin – will play.

In the 1/8 finals, Rublev won against Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik in five sets, Safiullin defeated Canadian Denis Shapovalov in four games, and Medvedev advanced to the quarterfinals after his opponent’s rejection: Czech Jiri Legechka withdrew from the match after two sets with a leg injury.

All pairs of Wimbledon quarterfinals look like this:

Carlos Alcaras (Spain, 1) – Holger Rune (Denmark, 6);
Daniil Medvedev (Russia, 3) – Christopher Eubanks (USA);
Yannick Sinner (Italy, 8) – Roman Safiullin (Russia);
Andrey Rublev (Russia, 7) – Novak Djokovic (Serbia, 2).

Safiullin and Rublev will appear on July 11, and Medvedev on July 12.

Wimbledon started on July 3 and will run until July 16. The tournament’s prize fund is £44,700,000.

Russian and Belarusian tennis players compete in international tournaments impartially, after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) advised international organizations not to allow athletes from these countries to compete.

Formerly the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) made A statement about the refusal to shake hands between Ukrainians and Russians and Belarusians.
