Lee Carlsey’s men exit the tournament with complete victories and without conceding a single goal; Abel Ruiz missed a penalty for a draw at 96 minutes
England remain in the European Under-21 Championship after a 1-0 win over Spain in the final and a flawless tournament. Lee Carlsey’s men won every match they played and did not concede a single goal in the entire competition. They will return home with their third title, leaving the men of Santi Denia with honey on their lips.
The first part of the game was evenly matched. The ‘Young Lions’ set started better thanks to an unstoppable Gordon, although ‘La Rojita’ came into contention little by little thanks to Baena’s starts. In addition, set pieces greatly frightened Trafford thanks to Sergio Gómez’s charity in search of his teammates.

However, it was England that eventually took the lead in the first instance. Palmer launched a free kick which bounced off the wall and diverted the track so Arnau couldn’t stop the ball. The goalkeeper of the Santi Denia men had a great weight in the game, which several times prevented the locals from extending their lead on the scoreboard.
