Two-time Wimbledon champion Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova has criticized Wimbledon organizers for compiling the women’s match schedule for the tournament.

»Daria Kasatkina and Iga Sventek have reached the third round and no one else has made it to the first round yet. I do not think that the organizers managed to cope with this problem. They had to take the players who could not finish the first round to the midfield. It’s frustrating to wait two days and not play. Then you return home and start your pre-match preparation all over again. I know these things happen at Wimbledon, but they’re so annoying,” Kvitova said at her post-match press conference.

Kvitova defeated Italian Yasmine Paolini in three sets in the first round of Wimbledon. She will face Alexandra Sasnovich from Belarus in the next round. The match will be played on 7 July.

Wimbledon started on July 3 and will run until July 16. The tournament’s prize fund is £44,700,000.

Wimbledon winners in 2022 are Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) and Novak Djokovic (Serbia).
