The Football Federation of Ukraine (UAF) has sent an open letter to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) demanding the disclosure of Russian referee Sergei Karasev’s challenge to the referees’ meeting. This has been reported official website organizations.
“We believe this case to be inadmissible against the background of UEFA’s general policy towards citizens of the Russian Federation, and we believe that the above is the result of a misunderstanding. However, on this occasion, we ask you to comment on this, as every step of the possible easing of sanctions against the Russian Federation is sensitive to all of us, ”says.
The collection will take place in Switzerland from September 3-6. It covers the referees included in the UEFA lists to serve in the matches under the auspices of the organization. The invitation was the first since UEFA’s decision to exclude clubs and national teams from European competitions and World Cup qualifying matches.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA decided in the spring of 2022 to exclude the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, from all competitions controlled by these organizations.
