HE Slovenian Tadej Pogacar won the sixth stage this Thursday. Tour de Francesecond and last in the Pyrenees, with the finish line at the port of Cauterets, the race’s first climb finish, ahead of the new leader in the general classification, Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard.
The UAE cyclist, who had lost just over a minute against the reigning champion the previous day, avenged his tenth win in the Tour, which rekindled interest in the race, by beating by 23 seconds.
Pogacar is second overall, 25 seconds behind DaneHe was ahead of the previous day’s winner, Australian Jai Hindley, 2.39 behind the winner in the yellow jersey, and is now 1.34 behind Vingegaard.
English Simon Yates is fourth, 3.14 behind the leaderThe Tour’s 22-year-old rookie, Spaniard Carlos Rodríguez, is fifth with 3.30.
