A lawyer specializing in anti-doping issues has assured that the doping case against Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova cannot be brought. Transmits words “Match TV”.
“There are two scenarios where a positive doping test is not considered an anti-doping rule violation. The first is whether the athlete has a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).
The second case with the autopsy of the “B” sample, which Sotnikova mentioned. This is very rare when opened and does not validate instance “A”.
Sotnikova can not be punished, no one can return to this topic anymore. “The case is definitely closed,” the lawyer said.
Adelina Sotnikova said in an interview with Tatarka FM YouTube channel that she tested positive for doping in 2014. She should have been tried, but then her “B” test came back negative and she was acquitted.
At the Olympic Games in Sochi, Sotnikova won a gold medal in single skating. She also has two silver medals at the 2013 and 2014 European Championships.
Formerly at the Figure Skating Federation it’s called bullshit Sotnikova’s words about the positive doping test.
