The Euroleague Board of Directors has extended the suspension period of Russian basketball clubs for the 2023/24 season. This has been reported official website tournament.
The decision was taken at the shareholders’ meeting on July 4th. Dejan Bodiroga’s candidacy for the Euroleague presidency has also been confirmed.
At the end of February 2022, the Euroleague Council decided to suspend the participation of Russian clubs in European tournaments. It was connected with events in Ukraine. Later, Russian clubs were excluded from the tournaments and their results were cancelled.
Then the Euroleague board of directors created the composition of the teams for the 2022/23 season, not including a single Russian team, including CSKA, which has a long-term license to play in the tournament.
