Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova does not believe that Russian figure skaters will be able to participate in the stages of the Grand Prix in the 2023/24 season. Transmits words DEA News.

“Probably the luck is gone. This can affect the motivation of the skaters,” said Tarasova.

On June 28, the International Skating Union (ISU) published on its official website a list of the participants of the upcoming Grand Prix stages, in which there is not a single Russian skater.

After the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, Russian skaters cannot participate in international competitions due to a penalty. There they managed to win six awards.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations, advising them not to allow domestic and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. Thus, the ISU excluded Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. In the 2022/23 season, they focused on local competitions (Russian Grand Prix and stages of the national championship).
